Irish Countrywomen’s Association

The Cloughjordan Guild of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association was formed in 1962. The ICA is non-denominational and non-party political and it continues to welcome old and new members of all ages and backgrounds.

The Guild meets regularly in Cloughjordan and is very active. The meetings are often addressed by an invited guest speaker, but sometimes there are demonstrations of such skills as cookery, craftwork or complementary therapies. After the talk or demonstration, the evenings usually end with socialising over cups of tea.

The Cloughjordan Guild of the ICA also organises open meetings on topics of general interest or on topics with may affect the local community.

The Guild meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) in the Methodist Hall, Main Street. It welcomes new members, including those who have recently moved the Cloughjordan as members of the Eco-village – people from urban as well as rural backgrounds are most welcome.
